Harvey York's Rise to Power Chapter 4169
Chapter 4169
Harvey York smiled faintly after hearing Arlet Pagan's doubts.
"Mr. Pagan's situation isn't that complicated. At the end of the day, his body is just invaded by evil energy."
"The problem will be solved as soon as the root cause is dealt with."
"Evil energy?"
Wes Pagan briefly froze.
"But I've always been careful. I've never stepped inside any places that would do that either."
"A geomancy expert also designed the entire manor for me. The land is completely pure as well. Why would something like that even happen if that's the case?"
"Besides, we've been here for years, but nothing of the sort ever happened to us until recently."
"That's because the source managed to find its way here recently," answered Harvey straightforwardly.
"It found its way here recently?"
Arlet let out a cold chuckle.
"Do you think we're dumb or something?"
"Evil energy only resides within haunted houses!"
"Our house has been as pristine as it can be! Why would that even happen?!"
"Are you claiming that it came here recently?"
"Just say that my grandfather is the actual source at this point!"
"Mr. Pagan isn't the source, but there's almost no difference now. If you don't mind..."
"We do! We do mind!"
Arlet let out another cold chuckle.
"My grandfather's in bad shape! We have been looking for people to help, but not someone as dumb as you!"
"You're saying that my grandfather is the source of the evil energy! That's the same as saying he's as good as dead!"
Arlet was filled with unbridled rage.
While she was enraged, she blamed Kairi Patel for causing this much trouble.
'Why would she even bring a con man here?!'
'Does she think she can do that just because the family's hidden or something?!'
'How desperate can she get?!'
Harvey rubbed his temples.
"There really is a source in Mr. Pagan's body, though..."
"Is that so?"
Arlet frowned.
"All the experts couldn't figure it out, yet you tell me that you can?"
"If there really is such a thing, then why haven't the rest of us been invaded yet?"
"Why would you even try to fool people like that? You even came to our family, of all people!"
"Let me tell you something. You must've been planting potatoes or something when the Pagan family was thriving for a few hundred years!"
Kairi felt helpless when she saw Arlet's face.
"He really isn't a con man, Arlet..."
"I don't blame you, Kairi. You did this for Grandfather's sake, after all."
Arlet immediately cut off Kairi.
"That said, I never go back on my word! He's just a con man desperately trying to steal our riches!"
"We will never treat people like that kindly!"
"The door's right there! Leave this instant!"
Arlet pointed at Harvey.
"Get out now!" she exclaimed.
Harvey heaved a sigh.
"Since Ms. Pagan won't let me, we should just forget about it," he said while looking at Kairi.
"Let's go."
"Before I do, there's something I need to say."
"Mr. Pagan won't last long."
"He has a few weeks' time at most!"
"If he wants to die more comfortably, I suggest he find another place to stay."
"If not, he'd pass within three days."
Harvey lightly sighed.
He only said those things out of respect for Kairi.
