Harvey York's Rise to Power Chapter 4246
Chapter 4246
"That's good to know."
Harvey smiled.
He wasn't interested in the matters of the underworld.
It wasn't that he was scared, either.
A small conflict like this was merely a game to him.
He couldn't care any less for it.
"Of course, the most important thing is that you managed to de-escalate every single situation."
Kairi looked as if she had been relieved from her worries. She casually wrapped her arm around Harvey's, smiling.
"Compared to the matters of the Patel family, I think your shop is more important."
"After all, this is the reason we're together."
"Oh, right. When you finally open up shop, I'd like to be your very first customer."
Harvey smiled.
"Stop joking around."
"You of all people know what I'm capable of."
Kairi laughed.
"I'm asking about my marriage," she whispered.
"I'm afraid only you can answer that for me."
Harvey's eyes twitched frantically, and his entire face turned bright red.
"Alright, enough! Let's just look at the shop first."
Kairi smiled when she saw Harvey's embarrassed look. She then walked in, her arm hooked intimately around his.
Thomas watched, feeling completely torn.
He should've told Mandy about what he was seeing, but...
He worked for Harvey!
He couldn't just sell out his boss like that!
While Thomas was helplessly pondering the situation, Harvey and Kairi were already inside.
The place was quite spacious, and the main hall was straight ahead.
There was a study room on the side, filled with all sorts of geomancy equipment.
A few bedrooms and a huge yard could be seen in the back as well.
The rooms looked quite nice on the outside, but the inside revealed them to be in a dilapidated state.
The tiles on the ground were all broken, too.
Holes could be seen all over the paper windows as well.
Harvey thought that the place was more suited for a horror film or a roleplaying game.
The place was completely deserted. Aside from a few elderly people outside, nobody else could be seen walking around.
People looked over curiously when they saw Harvey and Kairi.
Naturally, young people like the two wouldn't visit such a place.
"Excuse me, is Master Foley here?"
"He's out on a walk with his granddaughter right now, young lady. He does it all the time..." an elderly woman replied while sipping her tea.
"You two look like a match made in heaven! You must be here to pick a date for your marriage, right?"
"You can have my spot first."
Harvey glanced at the woman with a frown, though he said nothing.
"Thank you so much!"
Kairi didn't bother explaining anything, and leaned onto Harvey.
"What? Are you scared that your wife might find out about us?" she asked with a sly grin when she saw Harvey step back.
"I don't mind being your mistress."
Harvey was rendered completely speechless.
"Can you please stop joking around, Ms. Patel?"
"Even if my wife doesn't hack me to pieces for this, your servants will probably chase me down to the ends of the earth."
"Coward! You should be sacrificing everything for love!"
Kairi scoffed.
"I'll tell everyone here that you're an ungrateful man who can't honor his promise!"
